We all want to achieve the most from life and to feel extremely satisfied. We naturally aim at this target intuitively, which is great, but it is much like a blind person shooting an arrow at a target – they can be well motivated but it will be luck to hit the target. If you want to have incredible aim at your goals and ambitions, this post is for you.

Definitions
A goal is something you want to achieve (the start of something) and an ambition is what you achieve after you realize a goal (the end of something). For example, a goal is to become the President of the United States and an ambition is to be one of the greatest Presidents. Achievement of a goal is easy to identify while achievement of an ambition is more difficult – it could be realized well after your effort is complete.
Find a way to track your goals and ambitions for many years
This isn’t the most logical first step and is the main reason why people have low awareness of their targets. You need to write your goals and ambitions down somewhere so you can review them for years to come. This will allow you to update them and strengthen them in your awareness. Imagine if someone asked you what your goals and ambitions are; if you can answer the question without hesitation, then you will achieve with great confidence.
You might find that Tiddlywiki is the tool you need. If not, there are many other options you can use to record your goals and ambitions. Make sure you track them!
Identify your goals and ambitions
To identify your goals and ambitions, you need inspiration to know in what areas to make them. This will get you started:
| area | goal | ambition |
| immediate career | a great stepping stone for your future career? | |
| future long term career | ||
| hobby | that it turns into a career | |
| pleasures | ||
| friendships | ||
| special relationship | ||
| retirement | ||
| fitness | ||
| health | ||
| education | ||
As you can see, this is already an extensive list and it can keep getting longer. You could get really granular like making a goal and ambition for each course. This is why you want to write down your goals and ambitions and refer to them regularly.
Write down your game plan
Each goal and ambition has its own game plan for achievement. Write them down and be thorough. Map out every step. This is how you solidify your thoughts and lead a certain path to success.
Review regularly
Review your goals and ambitions regularly as it will help you monitor your progress and make revisions to your plan. Plans always evolve because hindsight is 20/20. You will find your edits simplify your path. Monitoring your progress is also motivating – when you finish your review, it is like you have a burst of energy.
Be ready for a few wake-up calls
If you ever feel you need a reminder, reassess your goal or ambition because it might be conflicting with you natural self. For example, maybe you want to be a famous movie director though you seem to be getting no closer to your goal even though you mapped it out well. It could be because you have little patience managing minute details. Wherever you are stuck, that will tell you a lot about yourself. Like instead of being a movie director, you really want to write movie scripts.
Knowing when you get derailed will tell you a lot about yourself, which will make you grow at a rapid pace to what you really want to be.
